Deluge: Prototyping Public Engagement with Flooding
Can flood data provide a way of engaging NYC communities with issues of flooding in NYC? This project aims to explore and evaluate avenues for engaging communities with flood data, through a review of existing work, discourse with various stakeholders, and prototyping of public engagement tools, such as data visualization in interactive online and static printable formats, and public arts programming.
As part of this project we are:
- Running an artist residency
- Hosting the Deluge Data symposium in the fall of 2023
- Holding quarterly flood researcher meetings.
- Prototyping and evaluating online interfaces for flood data.
